Unleashing the Power of Executive Coaching

In last month's coaching session, a new parent asked me to help her balance priorities and set boundaries to avoid burnout as an entrepreneur.

They had reached out to me to experience the power of executive coaching. Over the hour, they created a plan to delegate and communicate their needs to their team, creating a schedule that prioritized flexibility and consistency.

As the session came to a close, they said, “I’m grateful for the space to step out of the chaos of caring for the baby and centering on everyone else to think about myself and make a plan so I don’t lose myself.”

They took a breath and then went on, “I realized that, as a type A person, I felt like I was failing; that’s why I called you. This call shifted my mindset. I can handle this! Thank you!”

At the end of that call, I shared my favorite affirmations about parenting, leadership, and navigating a crossroads.

As we move into this season of Thanksgiving, I’m grateful to give back through my monthly coaching sessions with professionals. They help me see my own progress along the path. For instance, I shared with that client that when I was a young parent working in the corporate sector, I also struggled to find a mentor who would share their recipe for “having it all,” including the kind of Mom I wanted to be. I had to figure a lot out on my own, but now I can shine a light for others.

As an executive coach, I’m always discovering new motivational tools for growth to help clients apply leadership principles consistently, especially in stressful times. My greatest lesson is “you can’t pour from an empty cup.”  I encourage clients to include gratitude in their morning routine, starting the day by noticing the sunrise, what is going well, and how they are growing. This foundation can be invaluable when facing job loss, uncertainty, or a leadership transition. Daily habits support well-being and a positive mindset.
